Loma Linda University Medical Center is pleased to offer a Transitional Year residency program, helping to fulfill our wholistic health mission through facilitating the training of physicians who share our vision. Thank you for visiting us!
The Loma Linda Transitional Year program is a one-year, university-based ACGME-accredited residency, providing a well-balanced comprehensive foundation in multiple clinical disciplines in preparation for your transition into a categorical residency program. Our program includes the full range of required clinical experiences here in the Inland Empire, primarily at Loma Linda University Medical Center, with some rotations with our clinical affiliates nearby — the Loma Linda Veterans Administration Hospital, and SAC Health System – providing a range of urban and suburban settings for training. Our innovative program offers a wealth of educational and clinical resources, with clinical faculty in each specialty dedicated to the education and nurture of each TY resident.
Our unique program provides all residents the core rotations required by the ACGME, and have elective time as well, giving residents the freedom and support to explore elective specialties with an individualized curriculum based on categorical requirements and personal academic interests. Educational opportunities include active participation in Journal Club and M&M, as well as regularly scheduled subspecialty didactic lectures, Grand Rounds, and bedside teaching rounds. Upon completion of the training year, residents will be eligible for further training in a variety of specialties.
Southern California’s “Inland Empire” region is about an hour east of Los Angeles, about an hour from the mountains, and about an hour from beaches. So when you need to relax, you will have a variety of beautiful options to choose from!
So if you are committed to beginning your training at a high-quality academic institution with research resources, competency-based curricula, and which fosters a sense of camaraderie and teamwork for all residents, then please contact us: 909-558-6558, or email our residency coordinator at: firstname.lastname@example.org.
We look forward to meeting you!
